- I have had quite a life up to this point. My story tends to appeal to those who have experienced pain. I have come to realize, more and more, who God is. I no longer exist in a world driven, or burdened, by guilt and anxiety that I am not living "good enough" for God. I understand that Christ died in our place, for sins that we could never redeem ourselves from, and therefore I am saved. That's it. No extra good deeds will ever save my soul even more. My faithful walk through life is a product of an inner change that comes from allowing myself to be guided by The Spirit of God. I hope that I can explain this well enough to my children that they may follow Christ closer throughout their lives than I did.

ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that we are asked the question because we often walk around in the mundane ignoring God so the question forces us to think about Him and our relationship with Him.
ReplyDeleteSo yes - we hit our knees, but God seeks the relationship. Soon after the moment of extreme reverence, God enters a dialog - for which He knows the questions are coming, and patiently waits while we build the courage, or in some cases the audacity to ask. (Think of the examples of Abram, Moses, and the lady at the well all did).
My hat is off to you! Take a well deserved bow. I am humbled and walk with a new perspective! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me.
